MeltDownTM Shield AP Magnesium Chloride is an control agent with corrosion inhibitor used for melting ice on road surfaces. It may also be used with abrasive substances such as sand to produce an ice melter without loss of traction. It is used as a general snow and ice melter. A corrosion inhibitor has been added to reduce corrosion of steel on structures associated on sites where MeltDownTM Shield AP magnesium chloride ice control agent is used. |

Magnesium chloride brines will always super-cool significantly below their true crystal points. When these brines are stored or used in cold weather climates for long periods of time, there is a possibility for some crystal growth. It can usually be re-dissolved by adding water. |
